Students Shipping

There are many things to consider when you are a students shipping your stuff to your new college or school. Students must consider what exactly is necessary to excel in the school place, specifically what to bring and what not to bring. Most things you will be able to purchase at your college town, while at the same time there are somethings that you just can't leave home without.

Generally speaking there are only three categories of things that you need to ship to your new school. You'll want to consider the first category nearly right away, airline excessive shipping which can cost in upwards of $50 for extra bags, so consider this into the costs of ground shipping Airlines in order to make up for losses in finances have begun to charge $50 per bag, be sure that you understand these added fees. Be sure to account for the extra baggage that you will bring with you on the plane as this can quickly begin to add up. Make sure that you pack your check in and carry on to the max possible to reduce costs. If you are getting moved into college by your loved ones or family, be sure to make the most of their luggage as well.v

The second main category of items that you will be bringing with you are those items that considered boxed items. Most of the time these are things like books, frames, pictures, and maybe art. These are the things that help make your room, your room while you are in college. Boxed items are those things that must be shipped either via Fedex or a specialized shipping company. Pricing will fluctuate so be sure to get quotes from many different companies before selecting whichever one you end up choosing.

One of the most unnecessary things that people will try and ship to college is their furniture. This is an unrealistic request to ship to college as the actual cost for shipping typically outweighs the actual cost of the furniture itself. That perfect bed will have to go for a few years, so get used to buying used furniture to save you money. Personally I'd say find used furniture off of other college students that are leaving or jump onto Craigslist to find a deal. Since you are only in college, expect that whatever furniture you end up purchasing could get ruined or destroyed. I'd recommend buying furniture that you have all intentions of getting destroyed in the next few years. I'm not saying don't buy furniture that doesn't suit your style, but don't get caught up on the nice things as not many college students will recognize it in the first place.

Before you finalize and place a deposit or pay for students shipping, be sure that you've gotten quotes from atleast three competing companies. By spending the proper amount of time you could end up saving yourself an average of $300 on shipping.
